(IT) Resource Manager – Sector

Job description IBM Global Business Services is currently looking for an experienced Resource Manager to join our busy team. Based in Perth, you will be supporting a team of industry experts and managing the resourcing of newly acquired business. Your role will be pivotal to business success, and you will build strong relationships internally to assist you in assembling the best possible teams to fulfil client requirements. This is a key role within the business, and we are looking for an experienced Resource Manager with a background in consulting or other professional services environment to: Contribute to the achievement of GBS revenue and profit targets by providing resourcing solutions using all available sourcing channels Demonstrate effective collaboration with Sector leads & opportunity owners including the provision of advice & guidance on all resourcing matters Manage fulfilment of sector driven resource requests – act as key account manager where required Manage sector demand planning for existing pipeline and identified opportunities (30-90 days), including effective adoption of IBM’s resourcing & capacity planning tools Key responsibilities of the role include: Manage requests for resources ensuring each request has a clear specification of skills, job description and timeframes Ensure up-to-date resourcing data is available in IBM’s resource management systems, accurately reflecting status of GBS resources, open roles and resource plans (PD Tool, Professional Marketplace,& Demand Capture) Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders – GBS partners, project managers, consultants, resource management team and other business operations functions Promote the capabilities of practitioners to meet identified project needs Develop and maintain relationships with variable resource managers and GBS recruiters to understand current external market conditions, capabilities and availability and apply knowledge to resourcing decisions Highlight resource conflicts/disputes, and resource planning issues for escalation where these cannot be resolved easily Contribute to tactical and strategic resource planning and skill management processes Perform analysis and planning tasks to support operational requirements of the engagement or the sector Monitor skill gaps and excesses, providing input for acquiring and building needed skills This is an excellent opportunity to join a global organisation experiencing tremendous growth.
