(IT) Lead Solution Architect – Utilities/Natural Resources

Very Negotiable Salary Package The Role: This role is for a Senior Solution Architect to work with my client’s major customer. Key Focus Areas for this role: Plan and manage the completion of Project Deliverables using agreed approaches and templates and participate in planning and refinement of approach and templates. Key deliverables are Business Requirements to Solution Architecture X-Refs, Logical Solution Architecture, Physical Solution Architecture, Reference architectures, and product and vendor specific solution architectures. Lead the solution definition of a problem domain. Designs overall system and solution architecture, system integration, and implementation strategy. Lead the analysis, design, and implementation planning of technical/business solutions. Plan and manage the completion of EA Architecture outcomes using agreed approaches and templates and participate in planning and refinement of approach and templates. Collaborate with EA Office as required. Ensure that solution definitions and business requirements fully address both functional and non-functional (ie life cycle cost, performance, and/or flexibility) business requirements and full life cycle considerations (eg support, TCO, technical skills transfer). Required Skill Set: Demonstrated 4- 5 years minimum experience working as a Solution Architect. Demonstrated experience in leading Solution Architecture and Applications Architecture activities including lead accountability for key deliverables. Demonstrated experience in developing solution architectures in large organisations with large complex heterogeneous IS environments. Deep understanding of Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) and emerging leading practices in this area, in particular Service Oriented Architecture(SOA), Software as a Service(SAAS), and Business Process Management (BPM). Broad application architecture domain experience including Commercial of the Shelf (COTS) and ERP ( Note: This position has an emphasis on application architecture over infrastructure architecture). Demonstrated experience in large scale bespoke applications development in either a .NET or J2EE environment. (Note: This position will place more value on J2EE experience). Extensive experience in integration planning. Experience and understanding of the usage of Enterprise modelling tools (eg ARIS, rational etc) to support Solution Architecture and in the context of model based software engineering. Experience and understanding of Enterprise Architecture concepts, framework and methodologies (eg TOGAF, Zachman, Gartner). HIGHLY DESIRABLE Water Utilities knowledge.
