(IT) Senior Analyst Systems Capacity

The Independent Market Operator (IMO) administers and operates Western Australia€ s Wholesale Electricity Market. This market underpins a reliable, sustainable and competitive electricity industry. One of the key success stories of the market has been the performance of the Reserve Capacity Mechanism. This part of the market incentivises generating and demand side management capacity into the South West Interconnected System. Running this mechanism is an exciting and challenging task. Assisting the Manager Market Administration and System Capacity, you will take a lead role: In completing the Reserve Capacity Mechanism processes. Direct interaction with participants and developers. Providing technical advice. Developing forecasts of future electricity demand. Monitoring and reporting on actual performance of the power system, highlighting variances between forecasts and actual outcomes. This is a fantastic opportunity and to be successful you will need: 4-5 years work experience in a technical/analytical role. Demonstrated ability to lead work programs. Excellent conceptual and analytical skills with the ability to identify primary issues and develop practical strategies. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
